Revolv Team, Boulder, CO
Since our inception, it’s been a driving goal of Revolv that we would not only unify all of the off the shelf smart home devices on the market, but give our users the power and control over their home they’ve long desired. Today the Revolv Team is excited to debut our official partnership with IFTTT (If This Then That), which will allow those interested to access deeper, more sophisticated control over their Revolv Smart Home Solution.
IFTTT, a service that enables users to connect different web applications (e.g., Facebook, Evernote, Weather, Dropbox, etc.) together through simple conditional statements known as “Recipes”, has become an increasingly popular way to program smart devices around ones home. Many of the devices we work with (Philips Hue, Nest Learning Thermostat, Belkin WeMo and Nest Protect) already have their own “Channels” on IFTTT, and we’re excited to add Revolv to that line-up.
“The Revolv Channel on IFTTT will open up valuable experiences for Revolv customers and we couldn’t be more excited to work with their team,” said Linden Tibbets, CEO at IFTTT.
Our initial integration with the service will will focus on external web services that trigger Revolv Actions. For example: When I check into the office (or anywhere else away from home), trigger “Fido’s Music” Action & play classical music on my SONOS to help relieve Fido’s separation anxiety while I’m away. During our next phase of development, we’ll add triggers from the Revolv App. While this is only the beginning, incredibly excited to begin the next chapter of device control and functionality with Revolv.
