Shoutlet Inc., a Madison company that provides customers with a social marketing platform, has been named as one of 30 companies that will make presentations to investors at the Chicago Venture Summit, organizers said Friday.
The summit, which will be held on Oct. 15, aims to bring some of the nation’s top venture capitalists to Chicago to get exposure to Midwestern start-ups. It will also offer panel discussions with national technology experts, and private dinners with leaders of the Midwest’s Fortune 100 companies.
This is the first such summit held in Chicago. It is being hosted by World Business Chicago’s ChicagoNEXT, an organization that was launched by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and is chaired by venture capitalist J.B. Pritzker.
About 3% of the applications to present were from Wisconsin-based companies, a summit spokeswoman said. A number of state-based investment groups, including American Family Ventures, CSA Partners and gener8tor will attend the event, she said.
